NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities and science streams for more than a decade. These are available at: http://nptel.ac.in. From March 2014 NPTEL has been offering online certification for its courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate form the IITs!

NPTEL (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a joint initiative of the IITs and IISc. The National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a Government of India sponsored collaborative educational program. By developing curriculum-based video and web courses the program aims to enhance the quality of engineering education in India. It is being jointly carried out by 7 IITs and IISc Bangalore.
NPTEL Local chapter

Manav School of Engineering and Technology, Akola established a Local Chapter for NPTEL (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning) a project funded by the MHRD, Govt of India on July, 2018.
The National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) – A Project initiative of IIT Madras, supported by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, offers an opportunity to undergo free online certification courses in Computer Science, Humanities, Basic Science streams and Management. This facility assists faculty to enrich their knowledge and act as ‘mentors’ of the students.
